Preventive maintenance of VOLVO 9400 AdBlue System

Here are some measures to be taken as a preventive maintenance of VOLVO 9400 AdBlue System :

1. Check that the pipes and hoses in the AdBlue system are intact. There must be no damage or leaks. Also check that the pipes or hoses ate not chafing against anything.

2. Check that wiring is not damaged and that it is not chafing against anything. Make sure that the contacts are in place and intact.

3. Check that the clamps and bolted joints on all pipes and hoses are intact.

4. Check that the hose insulation under the AdBlue pump is intact and in place.

5. Check that the dosing unit is intact, undamaged and in place.

6. Check that the AdBlue tank has no cracks or leaks

Check that the tank attachment straps are tight and free of cracks.


Warning :

AdBlue solution causes corrosion damage. Do not remove AdBlue hoses or wiring during normal servicing or when a component is to be moved. Tools that come into contact with AdBlue solution must be cleaned. Gloves must be changed.
In case of any contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Take off any clothing coming into contact with AdBlue. If you inhale any fumes, make sure you breathe in frsh air.
If there is any suspicion that the AdBlue system has been contaminated, the rest of the AdBlue system must be checked.

Caution : 

Fluids other than VOLVO approved pure AdBlue solution (DIN 70070) cause the exhaust treatment system to break down.
