Scania India gets ready for its bus plant inauguration in Bangalore

Scania India is all ready to inaugurate its Bus Production Unit in Narasapura, Bangalore, India today the 31st March 2015. Scania has so far invested SEK 400 million (Euro 40 million) in Narasapura unit, where the company has also been assembling Trucks. 

Scania's industrial operations in Narasapura, 40 kms east of Bangalore, already include final assembly of truck and bus chasis as well as body building and fitting out of complete vehicles. The production of fully built long distance coaches, is already running. The city bus production will begin shortly, and first deliveries are planned by year end. The head office of Scania's Indian subsidiary is also located at Narasapura, as well as a service workshop and a central parts warehouse. 

The production facility is currently designed for 2,500 trucks and 1,000 buses per year and has 600 employees. within the next 5 years, Scania expects to double capacity to and to recruit a further 200 employees by the end of 2017.

TATA Paradiso G7 Multiaxle Spotted testing near Hubli

The upcoming TATA multiaxle popularly known as TATA Paradiso G7 - a joint venture between TATA India and Paradiso Brazil was spotted testing near Hubli (Karnataka), India.

Guwahati ASTC gets 61 City Buses under JNURM Scheme II

ASTC (Assam State Transport Corporation) Guwahati today got 61 city buses under JNURM Scheme II. Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi today flagged off 61 number of city buses to increase plying of government buses in the city and its adjoining areas at a function held at Rupnath Brahma Inter State Bus Terminus in Guwahati.

The 11 number of AC and 20 number of Non AC buses under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission - II (JNURM - II) are the special purpose vehicles and they would ply between Jalukbari - Noonmati, Jalukbari - Beltola via Paltanbazar, ISBT - Mirja, and ISBT - Jagiroad routes.

MSRTC inducts Scania Metrolink HD coaches on Trial

MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) inducts Scania Metrolink HD coaches on trial soon on its Mumbai - Pune route as per sources.

A 12 meter Scania Metrolink HD Biaxle (which was on trial with Siddaganga travels, a private tourist operator from neighbouring Karnataka) and a 14.5 meter Scania Metrolink HD coach will be on service soon.
