A middle emergency exit door can be noticed on this multiaxle. KSRTC (Karnataka State Transport Corporation) had the middle door emergency exit on its old fleet of VOLVO multiaxles and biaxles. But unfortunately, currently on the latest fleet of buses they have the rear small emergency exit door, which is customized with the window panel of the bus. 

I always preferred the middle door emergency exit on buses, rather than the rear exit, which is currently made mandatory, in the state of Karnataka. 

The middle emergency exit is not only feasible but more convenient for emergency evacuation for people of all ages, especially women. 

The rear exit makes it necessary for passengers to jump from the bus, which may cause injury to passengers and also makes it inconvenient for children and women.
