About APSTS India  :

The APSTS (Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services) was started in the year 1975. In the beginning, the state transport services of Arunachal Pradesh consisted of only two buses operating from "Khonsa" to "Naharkatia". Today, the state of Arunachal Pradesh is providing reliable, satisfactory and cost effective transport services to the local residents of Arunachal Pradesh. The transport buses are operating on various routes and their number has en increased from 2 to above 200.

The State Transport services of Arunachal Pradesh are commited to provide satisfactory transport services to the people at the best possible rates.

Special Services : 

The state transport department of Arunachal Pradesh offers a certain amount of concession to the students and office goers. According to the government rules and policies, the APSTS department also offers free travel services to the freedom fighters and physically handicapped people.

Arunachal Pradesh state transport department helps in enhancing communication network services by transporting mail bags. Quick and convenient transportation of mailbags to the desired location helps in establishing a speedy communication network among the common mass.

The head office of APSTS is located at "Naharlagun" and it offers computerized reservation system facility to the passengers. Three more agencies offer easy ticket booking facility to the passengers and they are located at "Bomdila", "Along" and "Tawang".

ASTC VOLVO 8400 B7R LE Buses

ASTC (Assam State Transport Corporation) have recently procured VOLVO 8400 B7R LE Buses to be included in its fleet of city buses  in Guwahati, Assam

The VOLVO 8400 City Bus combines the most advanced technology, design, features, and safety for efficient and eco friendly city road transportation. A robust and dependable construction promotes high operating reliability, while the low - entry helps swift passenger thorough - flow. The light weight chassis also makes it possible to carry more passengers. These properties make the VOLVO 8400 low - entry a truly advanced alternative to meet the needs of growing and congested cities.

The VOLVO 8400 is based on one of the best selling chassis from VOLVO Buses, the B7R. The Sturdy dimensioned chassis components provide high dependability and a long service life. 

The frame is simple and sturdy construction with a flat upper face for ease of body building. The chassis is delivered in two axle configuration with a 5940 mm wheel base. The front axle is dimensioned for 6.0 tonnes and the tough new rear axle for 10.2 tonnes, which supports excellent weight distribution and the possibility of exploiting the 16.2 tonnes gross weight to the maximum.

The engine in the VOLVO 8400, the VOLVO D7E 290, is a modern seven litre six cylinder diesel engine with a turbo charger and intercooler. This engine is powered with 290 HP and conforms to the Euro III environmental requirements. The tough, durable and fuel efficient engine was originally developed for VOLVO's heavy trucks, so there is plenty of power in reserve for the VOLVO 8400's gross weight of 16.2 tonnes. 

The engine has a very wide torque range and responds to the throttle instantly, which benefits driveability. Electronic Engine Management - EMS 2 with precise fuel injection gives efficient combustion and low emissions. It is now available in both Euro III and Euro IV options, depending on the city regulations.

The Power train of  VOLVO 8400 is dimensioned to get the greatest possible power out of the engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission with NBS feature offers unmatched smooth progress and ride comfort in city traffic. An integrated retarder with a unique torque converter enhances braking power. 
Electronic fuel injection with precise regulation of fuel quantity and injection timing promotes low exhaust emissions and good fuel economy. 

The disc brakes in the front and rear are of the same type as those found in VOLVO's larger buses. The brake features EBS providing fatigue free braking power. 

The VOLVO 8400 has a modern multiplex electronic system that offers the possibility of detailed information about vital vehicle data, which in turn permits wide scope for vehicle diagnostics and monitoring of the status and condition of the bus. The system also carries out automatic checks of basic functions such as coolant level and oil, brake and turbo pressure at start up.

ASTC Ashok Leyland Jan Bus LE

ASTC (Assam State Transport Corporation) have recently procured Ashok Leyland Jan Bus to be included in its fleet of city buses  in Guwahati, Assam.

Jan Bus from Ashok Leyland is a revolutionary concept in Urban mobility in India. An innovative, feature rich and technologically advanced transportation solution, the Jan Bus has been engineered to deliver a smooth ride for passengers and and an economical business proposition for owners.

650 mm above the ground, the fully built Jan Bus gives an uniform floor height - from the driver cabin to the rear of the bus.
