ASTC (Assam State Transport Corporation) have recently procured Ashok Leyland Jan Bus to be included in its fleet of city buses  in Guwahati, Assam.

Jan Bus from Ashok Leyland is a revolutionary concept in Urban mobility in India. An innovative, feature rich and technologically advanced transportation solution, the Jan Bus has been engineered to deliver a smooth ride for passengers and and an economical business proposition for owners.

650 mm above the ground, the fully built Jan Bus gives an uniform floor height - from the driver cabin to the rear of the bus. Its wide doors and single step entry make boarding and alighting easier, while the stylishly cantilever mounted seats and seat - mounted stanchions allow for ample leg room and also make cleaning and maintenance easier. 

The interiors can be customized per specific requirements and Ashok Leyland offers both AC and NON - AC options. The 5 door placement possibility makes Jan Bus modular to suit varied requirements of city bus, Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) as also make cleaning and maintenance easier.

The trademarked Automated Manual transmission - LEYMATIC makes for a smooth drive, saving the driver the stress of strenuous gear shifts and difficult clutch operations. LEYMATIC also improves the operating economics of the Jan Bus. And all this is powered by a 235 HP turbo  charged BS 4 compliant CNG MPFI engine that provides superior acceleration and makes for more efficient travel.

Intelligent and high tech, the Jan Bus is complete with multiplexing, electronically controlled engine and gear-shift. The inbuilt infotainment system not just keeps passengers informed and entertained but also offers an interesting advertising opportunity.
