Powered with Clean Burn Technology, the JCB EcoMAX does not produce high levels of emissions in the first place so it does not require a Diesel Particulate Filter.

JCB EcoMAX Tier 4 Engine has compact high efficiency SCR. The innovative "One can solution" and reduced mixer length assembly - still without a DPF makes for compact installation without the need for bulky alterations to machine bodywork - maintaining JCB's "No Compromise" approach with the minimum impact on the OEM.

The compact SCR will use between 2 - 3% of exhaust additive to fuel ratio. This coupled with a further reduction in fuel consumption of upto 5% over Tier 4i engine continues to provide opportunity to boost output and deliver real competitive advantage for OEMs and equipment operators. There is no compromise to engine power or torque at Tier 4 final / Stage IV with the EcoMAX product range.They maintain their impressive performance curve characteristics on all ratings. JCB's innovative re-calibration option as used on Tier 4i / Stage IV continues at Tier 4 Final / Stage IV by downloading a suitable fuel map and replacing the SCR system with an exhaust silencer. Meaning residual equipment values remain unaffected. The JCB engine uses the same engine footprint from Tier 2 / Stage II all the way to Tier 4 final / Stage IV - this flexibility allows the OEM the most versatile production methods required in the modern manufacturing environment.

The Tier 4 Final / Stage IV EcoMAX range utilises the same core engine architecture that has been proven in the field since 2004. Even the after treatment system is specifically designed for off highway use and the aggressive environments that construction equipment often finds itself in.
