MBMT (Mira Bhayandar Municipal Transport) have recently inducted 5 VOLVO 8400 Semi Low Floor Coaches into its fleet. The buses are scheduled to be put in Mira Road - CBD Belapur route. The route will be covering Ghorbunder, Thane, Airoli.

MBMT, owned by the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), commenced its operations in 2006 with local bus services with Ashok Leyland Coaches interconnecting various places in the in the Mira - Bhayander area. These buses were run by a private company called Kestrel Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. Kestrel paid a royalty of Rs 1/- per kilometer to MBMT. Later MBMT procured 39 NON AC buses. MBMT Bus Services are available from Mira Road Railway Station (East), Bhayandar Railway Station (West), and Dahisar Check Naka in Mumbai. The bus services are available from 5:30 am in the morning to 2:30 am in the night.
