Manikanchan ASTC (Assam State Transport Corporation) Volvo B8R coaches reached Assam on evening, 30th December 2018, at Guwahati. Two Volvo B8R coaches powered by Euro IV, Volvo D8C 330 HP rear engine coaches arrived as the initial fleet induct under ASTC POB mode.

The coaches are presently on way to Dibrugarh, Assam. According to trusted sources, the coaches are scheduled to start on Guwahati - Dibrugarh - Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) route tentatively from 6th January 2018. Online booking will be made available on Redbus portal, for convenience of passengers. The Volvo B8R coaches have a 2+2 seating arrangement.
The private fleet operator will be adding more coaches shortly under ASTC POB mode. Two Volvo B11R I-Shift Multiaxles and six Ashok Leyland AC Seater Coach with bio chemical toilets will join the fleet soon.
