Childhood passions and fascinations generally diminish for many as they grow up, but for few others they have become goals to achieve in life, Biswajit Baruah, Son of Late Dilip Kumar Baruah and Rekha Baruah, a native of Guwahati, Assam has a similar story. A native Assamese staying at Belagavi, Karnataka is an inspired Bus Entrepreneur, Enthusiast, Journalist and a Amateur CV-Photographer.

Buses have been a childhood passion for Biswajit. A product of KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi - Biswajit is the founder and CEO of Hive Sustainable Solutions, a Belagavi based start up company, which deals with providing sustainable solutions of bus fleet operations and bus industry as a whole, in India. Biswajit has worked previously as a 'Mentor and Director' of a Bengaluru based start-up 'Bus-Bucket' and its sister concern 'Ozobus' , before starting his own venture - 'Hive' at Belagavi. Biswajit has expertise in Automobile and Bus Journalism. His initial start up initiative of Blog Writing through his Bus Blog took him to work as a freelance 'Consulting Editor' to India's premium Commercial Vehicle Magazine - 'Motor India'. He is also a guest writer for Belagavi's premiere news and current affairs website - 'All About Belgaum'.

Biswajit started his passion as an amateur Bus Photographer and till date have captured more than 100,000 pictures of buses. He is fond of gaining and sharing technical knowledge about mechanics and electronics which drive buses. He also likes heavy commercial vehicles like trucks, excavators, cranes etc. Biswajit visits expos and exhibitions Pan India to meet people from the bus and CV Industry and to learn about products and latest technologies. His Blog and his facebook page - 'Biswajit - SVM Chaser' is followed by many top bus companies and OEMs for insights and feedback. Biswajit is well known amongst the bus fleet operators in India and is well recognized by the top operators like VRL Travels, SRS Travels and KSRTC in Karnataka, for his views and insights regarding sustainable bus fleet operations and services.

With a Pan-India approach, Biswajit stresses on the required effort for sustainable bus transport in India. He believes that Passenger Service and the Bus Crew Category is the most sought area, which needs urgent attention to bring streamline development in bus services across the country. POCLAIN HYDRAULICS PVT LTD AT EXCON 2015 BENGALURU

Poclain Hydraulics, a renowned name in the world of hydrostatic transmissions, was a part of Excon 2015, held at Bengaluru. The company showcased its range of products available for both for off-road and on-road applications. It manufactures hydraulic motors, pumps, valves and electronics for off-road machinery and has recently started offering solutions for on-road applications as well. 
With headquaters in France, and 10 factories worldwide, Poclain manufactures high torque low speed hydraulic motors from 172 cc/rev (18 KW) to 30,000 cc/rev (500 KW). The Pondicherry factory of Poclain currently manufactures motors from 172 cc/rev to 820 cc/rev (29 KW). and it is gearing up further to manufacture motors from the current 70,000 units per year to 1,20,000 units by 2017. A new assembly line is being now built where there is a plan to manufacture motors from MS02 frame size (172 cc/rev) to MS18 (2099 cc/rev, 70 KW). The motors are with male spline shaft flanged, pinion shafts etc. and can work at 450 bar pressure. They can have a 2 speed option too.




At Excon 2015, Poclain displayed the hydraulic motor frame sizes in : 
  • MS02 - 200 cc/rev with brake
  • ML06 - 630 cc/rev with integrated oil exchange
  • MG02 - with pivot for 90 deg steering angle 
  • MK05 - 670 cc/rev, compact ultra slim motor
  • MZE02 - pinion shaft motor for slew drive with brake 















The above motors are used in various applications that include Skid steers, Wheel loaders, Compactors, Agricultural machinery, Swing drive for small excavators, and other construction and Industrial applications like shredders etc. 

MOTOR FROM POCLAIN HYDRAULICS

Apart from these, Poclain also displayed a product for On-Road applications called CleanStart. The CleanStart system is a start and stop function which comprises a hydraulic motor, pump, valve, tank, and an accumulator. The CleanStart system gives a fuel savings of around 8 to 10 percent and reduces the emissions. The applications are for the buses and other construction equipment.
Last but not the least, Poclain also presented its hydraulic pumps, valves, and electronics products both for off-road and on-road applications. 

Poclain also showcased its MK05 Compact Motor at Excon 2015 Bengaluru. MK05 is a compact motor with maximum torque of 1065 Nm at 100 bar. It has a maximum speed of 130 rpm, maximum power of 22 KW /  30 HP, maximum displacement of 670 Cm3/rev, bearing maximum pressure of 400 bar / 5800 PSI, 1C displacement available.
